Editorial policy
How AI Tool Gem researches, scores, and updates tools.
Our job is to separate useful buying context from launch noise. This page explains the structure behind listings, reviews, deals, and commercial disclosures.
01 / Selection
How tools enter the directory
Products may be discovered through editorial research, community recommendations, founder submissions, public launches, or software deal platforms. Selection considers relevance to the AI software audience, a clear use case, enough public information to evaluate the product, and a reasonable level of product availability.
Submission, affiliate availability, free access, or payment for a separate commercial service does not guarantee inclusion or a favorable review.
02 / Research
What a review can examine
The depth of review depends on product access and available evidence. Research may include the official website, documentation, pricing pages, product demonstrations, onboarding, representative workflows, output quality, integrations, support material, public policies, founder-provided facts, and credible user feedback.
Each listing distinguishes structured product facts from the editorial verdict. Review dates and deal verification dates make the age of that information visible.
03 / Scoring
What the numbers mean
The overall rating is an editorial summary, not a laboratory measurement and not a user-review average. When enough information is available, supporting scores cover four dimensions:
A high score does not make a tool right for every buyer. The “choose it if” and “skip it if” sections are often more important than the final number.
04 / Deal verification
How deal labels should be read
A verified deal means the stated offer was checked against an available official or authorized source on the date displayed. It does not mean AI Tool Gem controls inventory, checkout, fulfillment, refunds, product continuity, or later price changes.
Before purchasing, confirm the final checkout price, taxes, eligibility, code acceptance, plan limits, supported features, expiry, refund conditions, and future renewal terms.
05 / Corrections and updates
AI products change quickly
Listings can be updated when products add or remove features, change names, alter pricing, close offers, revise policies, or receive new evidence. Significant changes may affect the verdict or rating.
Readers and founders can report factual errors through the contact page. Useful correction requests include the page URL, the exact disputed detail, and an official source.
06 / Commercial relationships
Affiliate links and partnerships
Some outbound links may be affiliate links, meaning AI Tool Gem may receive a commission if a reader completes a qualifying action. This does not increase the reader’s price unless explicitly stated by the seller, and it does not guarantee coverage or a positive verdict.
Sponsored placements, paid promotion, gifted access, founder partnerships, or other material relationships should be disclosed where relevant. Editorial conclusions remain separate from those arrangements.
07 / Limitations
Use reviews as decision support
No review can represent every workflow, account tier, region, device, language, integration, or policy change. AI output can also vary between prompts and over time. Readers should use AI Tool Gem to build a shortlist, then verify critical requirements directly with the vendor before purchasing or sharing sensitive data.
AI Tool Gem does not provide legal, financial, security, compliance, or procurement advice.
